Visual Merchandising Trend Journal
Key Takeaway: This individual project was established in my visual communication in fashion class during the spring quarter of 2023. I was asked to create a Visual Merchandising Trend Journal for 2023 trends in Visual Communication in fashion.
Objective: Students will demonstrate a visual aesthetic and an awareness of the design applications in the physical environment, students will apply the visual techniques and strategies for different areas of fashion marketing, and students will identify and analyze current trends, target markets, and design applications.
Scope: Each student will prepare and maintain an ongoing visual merchandising trend journal (a single document) with dated entries as called for in the syllabus. A total of eight entries are called for to complete the journal. Each entry will describe a significant trend or event happening in the fashion world, the trends that will affect the retail industry, and its relevance to the class. Each entry should include the following:
- two to three paragraphs of commentary
- three different brands’ photos as required to illustrate the point
