Upcycled Consumer Product - J.W. Anderson
Key Takeaway: This was my final project for my Ethics & Sustainability in Fashion Class. I worked in a group with 3 other partners, and we were asked to create a proposed consumer product for a brand (we chose J.W. Anderson) characterized by ethics and sustainability in fashion. While we were not required to create a physical object, our group was the first to create a physical item for this project. Additionally, we were asked to research the brand's mission, identity, target consumer market, competitive advantage, and ideas for how the brand could expand itself. We created marketing campaigns and mockups for the items created.
Objective: Students will be exposed to issues facing companies in the industry, examine current technology and innovation, and demonstrate expertise in identifying sources of information through written and oral presentations.
Scope: Students will collaborate to design a consumer product incorporating course learnings. The consumer product will be made solely from found objects/materials based on a selected brand. In addition to the consumer product, students will create all marketing collaterals to introduce the new sustainable line. The budget for construction materials is limited to $25.00.
Additional Notes: This was a group project; I was in charge of the slide deck, the title slide, table of contents, brand history, mission, competitive advantage, sustainability, target consumer, 1/2 of the personas, and the email, website, and Instagram advertising.
