Tactility Through Clothing - a Digital Lookbook

  • Key Takeaway: This individual project was established in my visual communications class during the spring quarter 2023. I was asked to create a digital lookbook for a fashion design student's clothing collection with the fashion department of my school. The fashion design student's incoming collection was based on tactility through clothing, as she is inspired by how her blind cousin interacts with clothing. A photoshoot with models and a photographer was conducted, and I was the creative director for the photo shoot.

  • Objective: Students will understand the design process behind visual aspects of brand development; students will demonstrate basic techniques with mixed media presentations, props, and computer-generated projects, students will develop a creative brief, budget, time and action calendar, and visual reference files, and students will demonstrate a visual aesthetic and an awareness of the design applications in the physical environment.

  • Scope: Individually create a digital lookbook for an existing company (in this case, a fashion design student's collection). Students will also create a project proposal with research, shot list, prop list, budget, etc.
