Ethical Advertising Evaluation and Revamp Assignment

  • Key Takeaway: This was an Ethics & Sustainability in Fashion Class assignment. I was asked to create a revamped ethical advertisement campaign for a chosen designer brand. I decided to chose Balenciaga to evaluate, as they've made some questionable creative choices with their ad campaigns in the past.

  • Objective: Students will research different perspectives, ideas and current events within the global fashion industry, Students will be exposed to issues that face companies in the industry, Students will analyze and present current issues in global fashion industry, Students will demonstrate expertise on identifying sources of information through written and oral presentations, and Students will develop critical point of view regarding issues within fashion industry.

  • Scope: Students will select a brand and assess the brand's advertising from an authentic and ethical point of view - all platforms (print and digital). Students will then mock up how they would revamp the brand's advertising to enhance the communication of the brand story.
